About NADRA

NADRA stands for National Database and Registration Authority, an autonomous and independent department functioning under the Home Secretary of Pakistan.  It was formed on March 10, 1998 as the National Database Organization and was not an independent department.  Later, the NDO and the DGR merged and gained their autonomy, so that they could work more efficiently and provide better services to the Government of Pakistan.  The department manages the database and monitors the sensitive information of all citizens of Pakistan.  Since its inception, it has been working successfully to protect and secure the identity of Pakistani citizens and many other documents to protect citizens from identity theft.  They are being recognized internationally for their extraordinary work to protect and facilitate their interests.  They also provide National Identity Cards (NICs) to the citizens of Pakistan and more than that they have succeeded in everything they set up.
